Enjoy the flavors of Jämtland

Our kitchen draws inspiration from Jämtland’s finest ingredients and is often mentioned as one of Åre’s best restaurants. Our passion for great food and exquisite drinks runs so deep that we even have our own distillery in the cellar. Here, we produce our own vodka using pure mountain water from our own well.

History

The story of Buustamon dates back to the 18th century. Cattle were herded here in medieval times, and the area served as the perfect resting place. "Buusta" is an old Jämtland dialect word for wind shelter, while "mo" refers to a dry spot on the marsh. A head of the 1954 World Championships, an old timber cabin from 1880 was moved up the mountain from Rännberg, just outside Duved. Buustamon quickly became known as a café and waffle lodge, and from the very beginning, accommodations were available on the upper floor.

This is a breathtakingly nature area, perfect for hiking in the nature reserve Ullådalen or ski in/out access to Åreskutan and just 10 minutes by car from Åre village.
